Our Editorial Mission
sleepSEE exists to help patients and families make informed decisions about myopia progression, myopia control, and orthokeratology (ortho-k). Our editorial mission is to provide clear, accurate, and actionable health information that reflects the current state of clinical evidence — without sensationalism, commercial bias, or medical advice that substitutes for a professional consultation.
All content published on sleepSEE.com falls under the category of Your Money or Your Life (YMYL) as defined by Google's Search Quality Evaluator Guidelines. We take this responsibility seriously and hold our content to the same standards applied by leading health publishers such as Healthline and WebMD.
Clinical Review Process
Every article published on sleepSEE.com is written and reviewed by the sleepSEE Clinical Team — a group of licensed optometrists and eye care professionals with specialized training in myopia control and orthokeratology. Our review process follows a structured protocol:
1. Research & Drafting
Articles are drafted using primary sources: peer-reviewed clinical studies, FDA guidance documents, and guidelines from the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the International Myopia Institute (IMI).
2. Clinical Review
A licensed optometrist reviews every article for clinical accuracy before publication. Reviewers verify that all statistics, treatment claims, and safety statements are supported by cited evidence.
3. Readability Review
Content is edited to an 8th-grade reading level (Flesch-Kincaid) to ensure accessibility for patients and families without a medical background.
4. Publication & Dating
Every article displays a published date and a 'Last Reviewed' date. The Last Reviewed date reflects the most recent clinical accuracy check, not just a copy edit.
5. Ongoing Updates
Articles are reviewed and updated on a 12–24 month cycle, or sooner if new clinical evidence, FDA guidance, or professional guidelines change the standard of care.
Sourcing & Citation Standards
sleepSEE relies exclusively on high-quality, authoritative sources. We do not cite press releases, manufacturer marketing materials, or non-peer-reviewed opinion pieces as primary evidence.

sleepSEE does not publish content authored by individuals without clinical credentials in eye care. Editorial Independence & Sponsorship Disclosure
sleepSEE maintains strict editorial independence from commercial interests. Our content decisions — including which topics to cover, what claims to make, and how treatments are described — are made solely by the sleepSEE Clinical Team and are not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, or affiliated practices.
Sponsorship Policy
Some articles include a Sponsored Comparison table that features ortho-k products or services. These tables are clearly labeled as sponsored content. Sponsored placement does not influence the clinical accuracy of the surrounding article, and sponsored products are not endorsed as superior to non-sponsored alternatives. All clinical claims within sponsored sections are subject to the same review standards as editorial content.
sleepSEE does not accept payment to alter clinical conclusions, suppress negative findings, or promote specific products as the only effective treatment option.
Corrections & Updates Policy
We are committed to correcting errors promptly and transparently. If a factual error is identified in any article — whether by a reader, a clinician, or a member of our team — we follow this process:
- 1The error is reviewed by a licensed clinician within 5 business days of being reported.
- 2If confirmed, the article is corrected and the correction is noted at the bottom of the article with the date of the change.
- 3For significant clinical errors that may have misled readers, the article is temporarily removed from publication until the correction is complete.
- 4We do not silently edit articles to remove errors — all material corrections are documented.
To report a factual error or suggest a correction, please use our contact form. Include the article URL, the specific claim in question, and any supporting evidence you have for the correction.
